"You will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart always will be elsewhere. That is the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place."
— Miriam Adeney
"Hi there. Can I ask why you’re drawing an In-N-Out burger?"
— why I stopped designing in public
As far as one-line bios go, Jamison Murphy is a singer/songwriter from Minneapolis(ish), Minnesota who’s about to embark on recording and releasing his first record. As far as my personal more elaborate bios go, Jamo is the best friend of one of my favorite friends from college and (as an added bonus) one of my only friends from home who is regularly awake and competent after 10pm California time.
It’s completely weird to me every time I remember how few times we’ve actually hung out in person, but I guess that’s part of what makes the internet so great. Another part of what makes the internet so great is how easily you can catch up on everything he’s done to lead up to this point (via YouTube or Twitter or Facebook) without leaving the comfort of wherever you are right now. Side note: please tell me somebody is reading this while on the toilet. Please.
Some of his videos show Jamo flyin’ solo, while others boast the sexy sixsome that is his full band. These dudes have talent at a level that makes me question why I even bother picking up an instrument, and they have passion at a level that reminds me exactly why I do. They also seem to be generally good humans, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Anyway, Jamo just launched an Indiegogo campaign so that—when the band hits up LA to record later this summer—they can worry less about how to foot the In-N-Out bill and more about how to make future lady listeners throw their panties at their iPods. He may have used slightly more eloquent wording than I have on the campaign site, so check it out here and consider helping out six talented, passionate, generally good humans.
